Toronto-based Score Media is providing sports updates to Global News Ontario — for its morning, noon, supper hour and 11 p.m. newscasts. The deal took effect Monday and covers scores, odds, highlights and breaking news, with a focus on Toronto-based teams.
Global’s broadcasts will include The Score’s signature sports ticker, which displays minute-by-minute scores and odds for every major sport. The Score’s EVP and co-COO David Errington says the arrangement will help The Score reach out to a new audience as the two broadcast teams work together.
The Score’s weekday sports coverage will be hosted by Score Tonight‘s Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro. Weekend updates will come from Adnan Virk of The Score’s Court Surfing.
The Score Television Network, a national specialty, is available in over 6.2 million homes. Score Media also operates the satellite radio net Hardcore Sports Radio.
