Leading film financier and payroll services provider Axium International has reportedly closed its doors in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. — shuttering its offices in Vancouver and Toronto as well as its locations in L.A., Burbank, New York and London, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Employees were earlier this week reportedly told not to show up for work starting on Tuesday. Calls to the Toronto and Vancouver offices have gone unanswered.
It is not known why the company — the largest provider of payroll services in the industry, and a source of production and gap financing — shut down, or whether its closure is permanent.
