Citytv slots Murdoch

Murdoch Mysteries has landed on the Citytv schedule, and will air at 8 p.m. local time on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, depending on the station. Citytv Calgary and Edmonton will run the domestic crime series on Mondays, starting Jan. 21, followed by Jan. 22 in Toronto and Vancouver, and on Sundays in Winnipeg, as of Jan. 27.

The domestic crime series comes from Shaftesbury Films and a line of books about an ahead-of-his-time detective who uses science to crack cases in 19th-century Toronto. Peter Outerbridge (ReGenesis) starred in an earlier run of MOWs, but for the 13 x 60 has been replaced by Yannick Bisson (Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye). Hélène Joy (Durham County), Jonny Harris (Hatching, Matching and Dispatching) and British import Thomas Craig (Coronation Street) also star — working under series directors Don McBrearty (Terry), Shawn Alex Thompson (Billable Hours) and Farhad Mann (Painkiller Jane).

CTV currently has rookie hit Pushing Daisies on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET, while Global has been running NCIS, though neither network has yet committed to a mid-season schedule. Rick Mercer Report and This Hour Has 22 Minutes air in that slot on CBC.
