Decode deals with India

Decode Enterprises has sold nearly 250 half-hours of programming in Asia, including deals in India for The Latest Buzz and Naturally, Sadie, and in Thailand for Bo on the GO!.

Disney Channel India has picked up the live-action half-hours The Latest Buzz and Naturally, Sadie — seasons one and two (39 x 30) of the tween-aimed Buzz and seasons one through three (65 x 30) of Sadie. The channel has also bought season one (26 x 30) of the CG toon Urban Vermin, an action comedy starring two raccoons that targets kids six to 12 years old.

Thailand’s True Visions, meanwhile, has bought seasons one and two (40 x 30) of Bo on the GO!, produced by DHX subsidiary Halifax Film, and all three (39 x 30) of the preschool series Franny’s Feet.

Other deals closed at the Toronto company include the first 13 eps of Super Why!, a copro by Out of the Blue Enterprises and Decode Entertainment, to ATV Hong Kong. The series is currently airing in Canada on CBC, and encourages the message that reading is power by teaching the fundamentals of literacy through interactive storybook adventures. Decode has also sold Turner Broadcasting’s live-action My Spy Family to ATV Hong Kong.

‘Our shows have always proven to be popular in Asia and we are signing an increasing amount of sales in the region from both our live-action and animation libraries,’ said Decode director of sales Josh Scherba.
