John Lewis is the new international VP of IATSE, stepping up from his previous post as director of Canadian affairs for the crew union, following a unanimous vote by its board of directors.

Lewis fills the spot left vacant by the resignation of Mimi Wolch, business agent for IATSE Local 873 in Toronto. A former labor lawyer with Toronto’s Jesin and Watson, Lewis also served as vice chair to the Ontario Labour Relations Board before he joined IATSE in 2002. His appointment is effective immediately.
