David Christensen is now executive producer for the National Film Board’s North West Centre, taking over for interim exec Derek Mazur. Christensen stepped in last week, following a nod from the board’s English program boss, Sayedali Rawj.
‘David has a deep love for cinema, as shown by his work as a film curator, lecturer and founding member of Calgary Cinematheque,’ said Rawj in a statement. ‘His talent and passion for filmmaking will greatly help the NFB.’
Christensen recently directed Six Figures, which saw theaters early last year, and with Damien Lewis codirected the 2005 NFB copro War Hospital. He is currently wrapping a new feature doc, The Heart of Viganella. He has also curated two shows at the Alberta College of Art and Design.
Mazur continues to serve as exec producer of the NFB Prairie Centre.
