ABC has picked up Pushing Daisies for a full season, extending the life of the back-from-the-dead series to 22 episodes.
Pushing Daisies airs here Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CTV, a full day ahead of its slot on ABC. The show is also available on the CTV Broadband Network at ctv.ca and, following a deal sealed earlier this month, on Rogers VOD.
Daisies had a strong start in Canada, according to BBM/Nielsen. For its Oct. 2 premiere, it hit number 27 on the chart with 952,000 (2+) viewers, up against Global’s NCIS and CBC’s Rick Mercer Report. It dipped into the 800s before rebounding last week to one million viewers.
Created by Bryan Fuller (Heroes) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black), the series is a high-concept fantasy about a young man (Lee Pace) with the ability to bring dead things back to life with a touch.
