Decode Entertainment has again boosted its third-party programming by picking up worldwide distribution rights for Super Why. The 65 x 22 CG preschool series is produced by Out of the Blue Enterprises, co-owned by Angela C. Santomero, the mind behind Blue’s Clues, and Nick vet Samantha Freeman.
The series is currently airing on PBS in the U.S., and CBC has just picked up the licence for the show. The deal follows Decode’s high-profile signing this past summer with Turner Broadcasting to distribute My Spy Family.
The Toronto shop will bring its new acquisition to MIPCOM next month along with recently acquired My Spy Family, Poko and Bo on the GO!. Decode will also debut Clang Invasion, a coproduction with Singapore’s Scrawl Studios and Hong Kong’s Agogo, at the French market.
Clang Invasion is a 26 x 22 sci-fi comedy about the adventures of a dysfunctional crew of alien robots that crash-lands in the backyard of siblings Daisy and Robin. Decode has worldwide distribution rights for the Canada/Hong Kong/Singapore treaty coproduction and has already presold it to YTV.
