Pilon to navigate SRC through digital age

Robert Pilon, former EVP of the Canadian Coalition for Cultural Diversity, has been named director general of strategic planning at Radio-Canada. The pubcaster says it will look to Pilon’s expertise to help the organization deal with the challenges of the digital age.

Pilon is both an economist and sociologist. He worked with Quebec’s principal music industry lobby group, the ADISQ (Association québécoise de l’industrie du disque), from 1987 to 1999, first as a consultant and then as VP, public affairs. Pilon also worked on the Caplan-Sauvageau 1986 report on Canadian broadcasting policy

In November 1999, he was appointed to his position at the CCCD, an umbrella organization of 30 different professional organizations representing artists, producers, distributors, broadcasters and publishers in the book, film, television, music and performing arts.
