• Decode Enterprises has purchased the worldwide television and home entertainment rights to Turner Broadcasting’s new live-action series My Spy Family. The series is produced by U.K.’s Kindle Entertainment and is the first non-Canadian title to be picked up by the Toronto company, a wing of Decode Entertainment.
• Portfolio Entertainment has bought the rights for 65 episodes of the lifestyle series Cowboy Country Television. Cowboy Country Productions has completed the first three seasons (39 x 30) of the series. Seasons four and five (26 x 30) are currently in production.
• Distributor Guerrilla Films has sold Germinio Pio Politi: A Portrait, a bio-doc about the painter by director Joel Richardson, to Bravo!
• South Africa’s MNET has purchased 195 half-hours of programming from Ottawa’s Amberwood Productions. The titles involved in the deal are The Secret World of Benjamin Bear, Hoze Houndz and Katie & Orbie.
• L.A.’s Halo-8 Entertainment has purchased the worldwide theatrical and home video rights to Your Mommy Kills Animals, the controversial doc about animal rights activists, at Montreal’s Fantasia film festival.
