Bo, Busytown coming to Kids’ CBC

CBC Television has announced some of the new and returning programs for its Kids’ CBC fall roster, which will be officially unveiled at a two-day event at the pubcaster’s Toronto headquarters next week.

Among new Canuck-made preschool shows is the action/adventure series Animal Mechanicals, which follows the adventures of mythical animals including Rex, Unicorn and Komodo, while the CG-animated Bo on the Go! aims to promote an active lifestyle for kids through heroine Bo. Both series are produced by Halifax Film in association with CBC.

Also new this fall is the mystery series Busytown Mysteries (Hurray for Huckle!), from Cookie Jar Entertainment, and the CBC-produced online preschool site Kids’ Canada, which will appear between shows during the net’s kids programming block.

Returning preschool shows include Arthur, season two of Curious George, season three of The Doodlebops, and the second installment of Lunar Jim.

The adventure series Magi-Nation, from Cookie Jar Entertainment and South Korea’s Daewon Media, highlights the slate of new programming for school-aged kids. The show follows an average boy from Earth who is mysteriously transported to the magical world of Magi-Nation.

CBC will launch the shows at Kids’ CBC! KidSummer 2007 on July 11 and 12.
