Cooper exits CHUM

In the latest of a series of departures at CHUM Television following its acquisition by CTVglobemedia, longtime legal counsel Denise Cooper has announced she is exiting the company.

Cooper, who has been with CHUM for 13 years, ran the company’s legal department as VP of business and legal affairs, general counsel and secretary.

‘My job doesn’t exist anymore and we’ve just decided to amicably part ways,’ she tells Playback Daily, though she insists it’s ‘business as usual’ at CHUM. Cooper has agreed to stay on for an undetermined period of time to assist in the transition process, and says she is not certain at this point about her future plans.

Cooper’s departure follows those of CHUM SVP of content Roma Khanna on Wednesday and CEO and president Jay Switzer late last week.
