• Bill Nemtim is now executive producer of the World Congress of History Producers, having joined Achilles Media, the event management company that runs the annual conference.
• CBC has hired Tom Hastings to oversee production of its drama, arts and entertainment programming – reporting to Sally Catto, head of TV drama, arts and entertainment. Hastings spent 15 years with Alliance Atlantis-owned HGTV and the Food Network and is credited for shifting both channels to documentary-based programming.
• Entertainment lawyer Ed Adams has joined Cookie Jar Entertainment as VP of business affairs and sales, working from its L.A. office. Adams began his career at Cartoon Network Studios as head of business and legal affairs. After leaving the company in 1995, he went on to oversee the development and production of various television, DTV and feature film projects.
• Jesse Ikeman has joined Blueprint Entertainment as VP of business development and coproduction. Ikeman recently produced the feature drama Barstool Words, starring Colm Feore, and has consulted on series including Whistler and The Newsroom.
• CBC has appointed Johnny Michel as regional director for British Columbia, effective July 3, looking to boost its presence on the West Coast while also integrating its television, radio and digital properties. Prior to joining CBC, Michel was VP of programming and production at the Vancouver’s Channel M, and also worked for Global Television and BCTV.
