Renowned broadcaster David Suzuki, actress Daryl Hannah and scientist/author Tim Flannery will lead a panel on climate change at this year’s Banff World Television Festival.
The panel entitled ‘Code Green — Environmental Responsibility in the Media’ is part of a new initiative at Banff to focus on climate change and introduce eco-friendly practices.
‘[BWTVF] is honored to have [them] share their views to keep the troubling issue of climate change at the forefront of the media,’ said Banff director of content Jennifer Harkness in a Monday release. ‘Their passion and dedication to this subject will fuel the debate at our Code Green panel.’
Suzuki has hosted CBC’s The Nature of Things since 1979, while Hannah (Splash, Kill Bill) has won numerous awards for her environmental activism. Australian Tim Flannery is the author of books including The Weather Makers: The History & Future Impact of Climate Change, and host of the Documentary Channel series The Future Eaters, about destructive human practices on Earth.
