Quinn joins CBC

CBC has hired Mary Quinn away from Brightlight Pictures, and installed her as its executive in charge of development and production for TV arts and entertainment, a lengthy title that will see her scout talent and build the network’s presence in B.C.

Quinn was director of development at Brightlight since 2004, and has seen her name attached to titles including The Wicker Man, Bruce Sweeney’s forthcoming American Venus and the horror They Wait, due in theaters in 2008. Before that, she worked in television in the U.K..

She will oversee Ceeb projects from all genres from development into production, reporting to Marcela Kadanka, who in turn works for the net’s A&E boss Fred Fuchs.
