The Canadian Film Centre is heading to Whistler, BC this summer to launch its Go West Project Lab, a one-week ‘creative and business immersion experience’ for producers based in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Yukon.
Up to six producers will be invited to participate in the workshop, June 18-22, aimed at advancing dramatic feature projects, networking and promoting investment in films that have cross-border appeal. They will receive feedback from sales agents, distributors and other packaging and marketing experts.
‘The CFC recognizes that western Canada is home to very talented emerging creators and this is evident in our strong alumni base and their many successes,’ said CFC director of film programs Kathryn Emslie, in a release.
‘We are excited to be working with the CFC to deliver their world-class film training programs in Whistler,’ said Whistler Film Festival director of programming Bill Evans.
Each producer can enter a maximum three projects for consideration. The deadline for applications is May 11. Successful applicants will receive fully paid attendance to the Project Lab, flight and accommodation.
