CBC has picked up a new preschooler series from DHX Media, putting animators and motion-capture techies to work on 26 half-hours of Bo on the Go!, now slated for a fall debut on the net’s kids block of programming.
The series — created by Jeff Rosen (Poko), Cheryl Wagner (The Big Comfy Couch) and Michael Donovan — comes from the Halifax Film division of DHX, and will be distributed by its sister outfit Decode Entertainment.
It is meant to encourage physical activity among its viewers, who follow the lead of the young, female host. ‘Bo on the Go! provides a fun, interactive show that gets preschoolers moving around at an early age,’ said Decode VP Dominique Bazay in a release.
Cheryl Hassen, now COO of Halifax Film, greenlit the series during her previous stint as the Ceeb’s creative head of children’s and youth programming.
