Latin America lands Bruno

Toronto-based Cuppa Coffee Studios has sold its preschool series Bruno and the Banana Bunch to Discovery Kids Latin America, where it will premiere later this year.

The 26 x 11 series — about the adventures of a monkey and his friends — recently launched on CBC and airs in more than 70 countries around the world. Bruno is based on the 50 x 1 interstitials that Cuppa president Adam Shaheen developed two years ago and sold to Nickelodeon.

‘Discovery Kids has a great presence in Latin America and have like others, recognized that this show has great writing, great design and a purposeful curriculum to it,’ said Shaheen in a release. Julie Fox of Paris-based distributor AWOL Animation will handle sales at MIPTV.
