Doodlebops goes British

Toronto toon house Cookie Jar Entertainment has inked a deal with the U.K.’s ITV1 to broadcast its preschool musical series The Doodlebops in its Good Morning TV block on Saturday mornings, beginning April 7.

‘GMTV is a well-established network and the ideal UK broadcast home for The Doodlebops,’ said Alison Warner, Cookie Jar VP of distribution in the U.K., in a release.

‘It has been quite impressive watching the show become a global, pop-culture phenomenon in such a short period of time. Now this musical trio is about to take its place on GMTV, and we couldn’t be more thrilled,’ said GMTV director of programming Peter McHugh.

A weekday launch for The Doodlebops on Good Morning TV 2 is planned for this summer.

The Doodlebops airs here on CBC, VRAK TV, and on Playhouse Disney U.S., Disney channels in Australia, Italy, Latin America and elsewhere, and on Nickelodeon France.
