New shows at 9 Story

Toronto’s 9 Story Entertainment has started work on two new series, putting its animators to work on the 26 x 3 Futz! and the 52 x 11 Best Ed. Both of the kid-aimed series are set for Teletoon, while Best Ed has also been picked up by Cartoon Networks in the U.K., Europe and Middle East.

Best Ed follows the unlikely friendship between a dog and a squirrel, and is set for delivery in early 2008. Futz!, a series of non-verbal shorts, will be in by September.

The toon shop also plans to finish another 10 eps of its hit Peep and the Big Wide World and another 14 half-hours of Max and Ruby in the coming months.

‘We have a great lineup of productions started for 2007,’ said 9 Story boss Vince Commisso in a release. 9 Story is distributing both Best Ed and Futz! through its newly formed distribution wing.
