The Canadian Media Guild is calling on TVOntario to find a replacement for public affairs program Person 2 Person, following the departure of its host Paula Todd, who has joined CTV.

The union representing on-air and production employees at the provincial edu-channel says Todd’s departure ‘should not mean a reduction in original, public affairs programming on TVO.’

‘It would be a shame if that tradition disappeared from TVO with Paula,’ said Carol Burtin Fripp, president of the TVO branch of the CMG, in a release.

The union is asking management at TVO to organize a pitching session to assist producers in creating a new series. The channel overhauled its programming in 2006 following a review by the provincial government.
