Rainmaker rebrands Mainframe

Following its takeover last year, Mainframe Entertainment has been rebranded as Rainmaker Animation and been put under the command of Paul Gertz. He will serve as EVP of the animation division, under Rainmaker Entertainment CEO Warren Franklin.

Mainframe was bought by the post-production giant last summer for $13.8 million, forming what looks to be the largest visual effects and animation shop in Canada.

Gertz is a 25-year industry vet who has held posts at Lucasfilm, Hanna-Barbera and Turner Feature Animation. ‘Combining Rainmaker’s CG talent and high-end infrastructure with the Mainframe team creates a world leader in the sphere of animation,’ he said in a statement.
