Claydon in for McIntosh

CBC has tapped Michael Claydon as commissioning editor for all docs and doc series, moving the Life and Times veteran into the job recently vacated by Jerry McIntosh.

Claydon — most recently a senior producer on the in-house 10-parter Hockey: A People’s History — will also work closely with CBC Newsworld and its doc decision maker, Catherine Olsen. Both answer to Ceeb executive director of documentary programming Mark Starowicz.

‘Michael has great depth of practical experience and knowledge of the independent sector from coast to coast,’ said Starowicz in a statement. ‘He has earned a reputation for nurturing and developing talent.’

Claydon’s credits also include The National and The Journal. McIntosh left the network last fall to ‘pursue other opportunities,’ according to a CBC spokesperson.
