Mike Duffy will return to CTV Newsnet as host of Mike Duffy Live on Monday, after undergoing open heart surgery in Ottawa six months ago.

Doctors removed a blockage in one of Duffy’s coronary arteries after shortness of breath and fatigue plagued the veteran TV reporter.

In his first show back, Duffy will reflect on the state of Canadian politics since his departure in August.

‘With a minority government in place and a revived opposition trying to gain momentum, this is really one of the most exciting times to cover Canadian politics,’ said Duffy in a statement, adding that he will also share some health tips while covering the issues on Parliament Hill.

Mike Duffy Live airs Monday to Friday at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET on CTV Newsnet.
