Telefilm Canada has introduced two new programs to benefit English-speaking writers, directors and producers working in the comedy, film and television sectors in Quebec.
The ponderously named Official Language Minority Communities Strategic Initiatives for: Development of English-Language Feature Films and Development of English-Language Drama Television are designed to beef up the presence of Anglo film and TV-makers in la belle province.
‘We hope to increase the number of scripts and productions from this group as well as enhance their access to mainstream funding,’ said Michel Pradier, Telefilm’s director of the Quebec office, in a statement.
The deadline for applicants is Feb. 13. Application forms are available at: www.telefilm.gc.ca.
