* Australia’s ABC has bought season two (26 x 11) of the CG toon Planet Sketch and the entire run (71 x 30) of The Halifax Film Company’s preschooler Poko, following deals with Decode Entertainment. Decode also sold seasons one and two, respectively, of its live-action series Naturally, Sadie and Radio Free Roscoe, and the toons Delilah & Julius and Naughty Naughty Pets, to air on the kids block of ABC and ABC 2.
* U.S. digichannel I-Health has picked up seasons three through five of the medical series Little Miracles (65 x 30) and seasons one and two of Patient Files (29 x 30) from Breakthrough Entertainment. The Toronto distributor also sold the first and second seasons of the military factual Truth Duty Valor (39 x 60) to Historia in Quebec, while also landing an order for a third.
* Motion Picture Distribution has bought the domestic rights to the South Korean monster movie The Host, by Bong Joon-ho.
* Peace Arch Entertainment has inked a 30-picture deal with Movie Central, preselling 24 new MOWs and features plus six of its Maneater horror features to the Corus-owned pay channel.
* KaBoom Entertainment has bought the Canuck rights to the comedy National Lampoon’s TV: The Movie.
* FremantleMedia Enterprises and Insight Productions (Canadian Idol, Falcon Beach) have signed a mutual first-look agreement, giving the U.K. format giant the pick of Insight’s Canuck projects.
* HGTV in the U.S. has bought 26 eps of House & Home with Lynda Reeves from House & Home Media, with an option for another 26.
* Amberwood Entertainment and its U.K. copro partner Total Eclipse Television have sold the hour-long seasonal special The Snow Queen to a host of territories, including Australia, Spain, Greece, Romania and the Ukraine, via distributor BBC Worldwide.
* Japan’s Cartoon Network has picked up the 50 x 1 Bruno shorts by Cuppa Coffee Studios.
* Ottawa’s Arriviste Films has optioned the W. Somerset Maugham story The Pool for a possible feature.
