Laure gets Capture’d

Quebec actress-cum-filmmaker Carole Laure (CQ2) is shooting her latest feature, La Capture, in Montreal until Oct. 21.

The Canada/France copro is produced by Lyse Lafontaine and Michael Mosca of Montreal’s Equinoxe Films, Laure though Laure Productions, and by Jean-François Lepetit of France’s Flach Film (Anatomie de l’enfer).

The $3-million production, lit by Daniel Jobin (Elvis Gratton 3: Le retour d’Elvis Wong) and scripted by Laure, tells the tale of a 20-year-old woman who rebels in the face of a brutal and overbearing father. Catherine De Léan and Laurent Lucas star, with Pascale Bussières and Thomas Lalonde.

The project is backed by SODEC and Telefilm Canada and will be released in 2007 through Equinoxe Films. It is Laure’s third effort as a director.
