* Saw 3, the latest in the golden horror franchise, gets underway in May under director Darren Lynn Bousman. The second instalment also shot in Toronto.

* The pilot for Runaways – a drama starring Donnie Wahlberg for the newly formed CW network – is at Toronto Film Studios until mid-April.

* The third season (20×60) of Battlestar Galactica gets underway in B.C. this month for the Sci-Fi Channel.

* Barna-Alper Productions has optioned the BBC doc format Who Do You Think You Are? and is developing a possible series with CBC.

* The first season (26 x 30) of the kid-aimed Iggy Arbuckle is underway at Blueprint Entertainment for Teletoon.

* The sci-fi series Kyle XY – about a family that takes in a mysterious teen – is shooting its 8 x 60 first season for ABC Family in Vancouver until June.

* The teen sci-fi Jumper, from New Regency Pictures, is now set for a June start at Toronto’s Cinespace Film Studios, after dropping its Montreal plans last month.

* Season two (13 x 30) of CTV’s half-hour drama Robson Arms gets underway on April 11 in Vancouver for Omni Film Productions and Halifax-based Creative Atlantic Communications. All 13 episodes will be shot in HD.

* Vancouver’s Bardel Animation is developing the 26 x 22 kids series Anton’s World – about a little boy with big ideas – for TVOntario.
