* CHUM Television has greenlit The Buck Calder Experience, a comedy pilot about a U.S. director trapped in Canada, from Headtrip Films and ad house Sparks Productions.

* Shooting wraps this month in Ottawa on season one (6 x 30) of Getting Along Famously, the 1960s-set CBC comedy from Colin Mochrie and Debra McGrath.

* Focus Features has optioned the remake rights to Sidekick, the low-budget superhero spoof shot last year by Toronto’s Michael Sparaga.

* Cloud Ten Pictures will release Left Behind: World at War, the latest in its series of end-is-nigh pictures, in U.S. and Canadian churches the weekend of Oct. 21-23, in advance of a DVD release through Sony on Oct. 25.
