* CanWest Global has named David Drybrough interim chair of its board of directors, replacing Frank McKenna, now Canada’s ambassador to the U.S. Drybrough previously worked at Gendis and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and has served on CWG’s board since March 2003.

* Keri Levinsky has joined Achilles Media as marketing director responsible for the Banff World Television Festival, the now-revived nextMEDIA and the World Congress of History Producers. Prior to joining Achilles, Levinsky worked as an account supervisor at ACLC Advertising in charge of the Paramount Canada’s Wonderland account and as an account director at Echo Advertising and Marketing, handling marketing for the Toronto International Film Festival Group.

* Ian Vatcher is the new president of Panasonic Canada, replacing Eddie Esaki, who has returned to work at the parent company in Japan.

* Pierre Roy has joined Imavision Distribution as vice-president, overseeing distribution, sales and marketing of titles such as Little House on the Prairie and the Insectia documentary series in the U.S. and Europe. Roy recently worked at Sony-BMG Music as market development manager for Eastern Canada.

* Annmarie Lesiuk is the new managing director of Minds Eye International. She will be responsible for the company’s international programming acquisitions, focusing on lifestyle series and children/teen drama. Lesiuk has worked at Minds Eye for five years, formerly as its sales director.

* Charles Clément is the new manager of programming at APTN, coming over from an affiliate relations post for CanWest Global’s specialty networks.

* Mercedes Watson is the new CEO of the Union of BC Performers. She will take up the position in mid-May, transferring from her role as director of ACTRA Performers’ Rights Society.

* Ross McLeod is now VP of sales at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Canada, leading the company’s national sales team.

* Spin Productions has signed Wade Howie as senior creative director, Naomi Anderlini as senior designer/Inferno artist and Larissa Ulisko, Bojan Zoric and Peter Giliberti as graphic artists.
