Funnyman John Morgan, a founding member of Royal Canadian Air Farce and a 40-year veteran at CBC, died on Nov. 15. He was 74.
Best known to TV viewers for his many characters including the Scotsman ‘Jock McBile’ and ‘Mike from Canmore,’ Morgan started writing comedy in 1966 and went to work for CBC Radio three years later, moving to television with his Air Farce cohorts in 1993. He retired in 2001 and was replaced by Jessica Holmes.
‘He was eccentric, talented, prolific, funny, and the most memorable friend and colleague any of us will ever have,’ said Air Farce costars Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson in a statement.
