Cassaday gets Gold Ribbon

When the Canadian Association of Broadcasters hands out its annual Gold Ribbon Awards on Nov. 30, the top honor will go to Corus Entertainment president and CEO John Cassaday, who takes this year’s Gold Ribbon Award for Broadcast Excellence.

‘I can think of no better person to receive this honor in 2004,’ says CAB president and CEO Glenn O’Farrell. ‘He is a true leader in our industry and through his meaningful work contributes to improving his community and country.’

CAB will add 11 other execs to its Broadcast Hall of Fame, including Astral chairman Andre Bureau, Shan Chandrasekar of the Asian Television Network and the APFTQ’s Claire Samson, along with jazz legend Oscar Peterson, who will be inducted in the music star category. Peterson is also scheduled to perform at the awards.
