* Hans Fraikin is the new director of Telefilm Canada’s European office in Paris. For the past eight years, Fraikin held positions at Twentieth Century Fox International, at its Jakarta, Indonesia and Paris offices.

* At Brightlight Pictures of Vancouver, former director of development Andrew Boutilier has been promoted to independent producer. Former producer’s assistant Mary Quinn replaces him. Boutilier will focus on the development, production and marketing of new films with emerging talent, while Quinn manages the funding, budgeting and development of all future Brightlight projects.

* Lisa McVeigh is the new operations manager at Vancouver-based Anagram Pictures, which produced The Delicate Art of Parking. Formerly, McVeigh managed the financial operations of British Columbia Film. At Anagram, she will manage the company’s financial affairs, corporate strategy and human resources.

* Animator Peter Giliberti has joined Toronto animation and VFX studio Spin. Giliberti was lead character animator on Spider-Man 2 and also worked on the first Spider-Man. Other credits include CG character animation on the 2002 Academy Award-winning short The Chubbchubbs!

* Ann Marie Sluga is the new COO of the Directors Guild of Canada – Ontario. Sluga’s past experiences include positions at SOCAN, The Globe and Mail and the City of Toronto.

* Jodi Cook has left Alliance Atlantis for CTV, taking over as manager of programming communications for its sister channels CTV Travel, Discovery Channel, Discovery Civilization and Animal Planet. Cook was the publicist for HGTV and other AAC specialties.

* Diana Swain is the new Toronto anchor for CBC’s Canada Now, coming over after three years at the now-canceled Disclosure. Swain will share the screen with Ian Hanomansing, who hosts the supper-hour newscast from B.C.

* Moira McLean has been named the legislative reporter for both West Coast CHUM stations, Citytv Vancouver and the New VI in Victoria. Previously, McLean was a reporter and assignment editor at the competing Global station CH Victoria.
