Monte Carlo loves Bugs

Montreal-based Distraction Formats won the Scripted Format of the Year award July 3 at the 44th Monte Carlo Television Festival for scripted comedy Love Bugs. Distraction has distributed Love Bugs to more then 20 territories, including Ukraine (ICTV), Italy (RTI), Mexico (TV Azteca), and Russia (TNT), on behalf of show creator Avanti Cine Video, also of Montreal.

What a Rush

Popular Vancouver television hosts Fiona Forbes and Michael Eckford are returning to Urban Rush, the cable show that made them local celebrities. The duo left Shaw Cable, after five years, in the fall of 2002 to host Breakfast Television at Citytv Vancouver, but were dismissed in February. The Urban Rush hosts Erin Cebula and Russell Porter, who replaced Forbes and Eckford, exited on July 16.
