Nelvana sells three to CNLA

With the weather turning distinctly chilly north of the 49th, Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana is thinking south – Latin America, that is. The toon titan recently announced the sale of My Dad the Rock Star, Jacob Two-Two and Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Kids to Cartoon Network Latin America.

My Dad the Rock Star is a 26 x 30 copro with France’s The Carrere Group and broadcaster M6 that centers on a 12-year-old boy who has trouble adjusting to life in a small town because his father is a fire-breathing rock star.

Jacob Two-Two, based on Mordecai Richler’s books, is a 26 x 30 about a boy with a tendency to repeat himself, while he gets entangled in all manner of adventures, both at school and around the globe.

Finally, Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Kids is a 3D-animated special produced in association with Callaway & Kirk, based out of New York. The one-hour preschool program, based on David Kirk’s bestsellers, features an eight-legged beauty that helps reunite a chicken egg with its mother. A Miss Spider 26 x 30 series is currently in production with a broadcast commitment from Nick Jr. in the U.S.
