FCTVM Gala honors five women

Montreal: Femmes du cinema, de la television et de la video a Montreal (FCTVM) paid tribute to five accomplished industry women at its fifth annual gala, held April 10 at the Marriott Chateau Champlain.

Actor and writer Kim Yaroshevskaya was this year’s honorary gala president. Actor, author and singer Louise Portal was the MC.

The 2003 gala paid tribute to writer/director Paule Baillargeon (Claude Jutra, portrait sur film, Le Sexe des etoiles, Sonia); veteran AD Mireille Goulet, who has worked on close to 60 feature films; film and TV producer Lyse Lafontaine (L’Ombre de l’epervier, Les Muses orphelines, Leolo); internationally renowned documentary filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin (Is the Crown at War with Us?, Rocks at Whiskey Trench, Kanehsatake – 270 Years of Resistance); and Jutra and Gemini Award-winning actor Karine Vanasse (Seraphin: Un homme et son peche, Emporte-moi).

Diane G. Dube is president of the FCTVM board of directors. FCTVM is the Quebec chapter of the international Women in Film and Television network.
