Atom Egoyan

Director Atom Egoyan credits PS Production Services with offering him key support, particularly when the acclaimed director was in his early days of making feature films.

‘Doug Dales was absolutely crucial for the beginning of my career,’ Egoyan says. ‘I’ll never forget the help PS Production gave me.’

It was back in 1983 when Egoyan embarked on the production of his first feature-length film, Next of Kin, and enlisted the services of PS. Then, after almost three years of directing various TV projects in the mid-1980s, Egoyan produced his second feature, Family Viewing. Released in 1987, it made the film world stand up and take notice. From there he built on previous successes with the release of each subsequent film, including Speaking Parts, The Adjuster, Calendar and Exotica. As he progressed, he continued to use the services of PS.

‘Doug was one of the first people in the industry who took my ambitions seriously,’ recalls Egoyan. ‘He was able to both encourage and support my dreams.’
