* Daniel Gourd hs been appointed executive VP, French television with Societe Radio-Canada. Gourd served as interim VP French television since Michele Fortin’s departure in July. He has held various managerial positions with SRC since 1985 and was named director-general of programming in 1999.
* Dave Forget has been appointed director of Telefilm Canada’s feature film unit, Ontario. He has 20 years experience in distribution, focusing on mainstream and specialty films. He also worked as a senior investment analyst with Telefilm’s Western office. Forget was among the original founders of Vancouver-based distribution company Red Sky Entertainment. He has managed the Canadian theatrical operations for 20th Century Fox and held a position with Alliance Atlantis Releasing.
* CTV has appointed four new senior mangers within its news division. Joanne MacDonald is now VP of CTV News administration. Tom Haberstroh assumes the role of VP and executive producer for Canada AM. Mark Sikstrom is the new executive producer for CTV Newsnet. And Carol Ashurst becomes director of research archives and archive sales.
* Jim Rusnak has been named VP and GM of BC CTV, starting Jan. 1. Previously, he was president of western operations at Global Television Network and president of CanWest Television.
* The National Film Board French Program has named Claudette Jaiko producer with Studio Ontario et Ouest. Jaiko has produced a number of documentaries for the NFB, including Two Voices Echoing, Franchir le silence, award-winning Taking Charge and the controversial Custodian of the Hill. She is a former project coordinator for the Canadian Television Fund.
* Julie Lacey is the new head of drama development at Toronto’s Barna-Alper Productions. She has worked as a writer, story editor and producer on shows such as Due South and Power Play.
