Arthur picks up multiple daytime Emmy noms

While Cinar Corp. continues to be entangled in a web of controversy, Arthur maintains its evergreen status, picking up three daytime Emmy noms for outstanding children’s animated program, outstanding achievement in music direction and composition (music director Jeffrey Zahn, composer Ray Fabi), and outstanding achievement in sound mixing – special class (Stephane Bergeron).

Nelvana has also emerged with multiple nominations, garnering an outstanding special class animated program nod for Rolie Polie Olie, and outstanding performer in an animated program for Braceface (Alicia Silverstone).

Decode Entertainment’s world-renowned Angela Anaconda, which put the Toronto house on the map and received nods for the last two consecutive years, was sidestepped this year, making way for The Zack Files, which is nominated for outstanding achievement in sound mixing (Stephen Traub, Ric Jurgens).

CineGroupe’s Sagwa: The Chinese Siamese Cat picked up a nom for outstanding achievement in main title design (Melinda Lawton).

The 29th annual awards show will be broadcast May 17 on CBS.
