* Telefilm Canada has named Michel Pradier interim director, operations – Quebec. Pradier takes over from Joelle Levie, recently named head of the film and TV unit at Quebec funding agency SODEC.
Pradier joined Telefilm in early 1997 as TV unit financial analyst, becoming the unit’s manager in September 2000. The appointment is effective immediately.
* Denis Carmel, former CRTC manager of media and parliamentary relations, has been appointed the commission’s acting director general, communications.
* Mark Prasuhn has been appointed COO of Vision TV. Prasuhn will oversee the finance, business development, administration and technical operations for Vision and new Category 1 digital channel One: the Body, Mind & Spirit. Prasuhn joined Vision in January from Regina prodco Minds Eye Pictures, where he was COO.
* Peter Worsley has been appointed managing director, international television distribution for AAC Fact, effective immediately.
* Alain Bergeron has been appointed Astral Media’s VP of communications, replacing David Novek, who after 40 years working in communications and a lifetime with Astral has decided to focus on his consulting business.
Bergeron joins Astral from the Montreal office of Edelman Public Relations, where he was VP financial and corporate communications.
In other appointments at Astral Media, Jacques Mathieu, a producer with Zone 3, is appointed director, original productions at specialty channel Historia.
* Joanne Jackson, former manager of independent productions at WTN, has been appointed Rogers Television’s station manager in Durham, ON.
