Brent-Karl Clackson, nominated for a best director Gemini for The Outer Limits (‘Something About Harry’) has been called ‘the hardest working man in television’ by some of his associates. When he’s not on set, he is known to take his down time by virtually disappearing, and certainly disappearing from the media’s view.
Clackson was executive producer of The Outer Limits for season six and producer for seasons one through five. He also produced the first season of Poltergeist: The Legacy and the miniseries Creature. He has worked on Highlander and Wiseguy.
As one national newspaper reported last year, Clackson may be a hard man to reach, but it seems that talking to him could be quite memorable. Over the years, The Outer Limits production crew has collected his most memorable bon mots in small books, which are then sold to raise money for charity.
Some of the samples include: ‘Age waits for no man; The sooner we are out of here, we will be out of this bale of tears; Full frontal naketivity; I’ve come up with a lame-brain idea that I think is a good one; and It’s all that Hollywood swope and mirrors.’
Since the production has wrapped for now, there is no word on where the books are available.
