* Claude Galipeau, former VP, new media at Salter Street Films, has joined Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting as VP, broadcasting.
Frank Pulumbarit, former director of new media at Sony Music Canada, has joined the company as VP, interactive.
Heather Sinclair, former VP of sales and marketing for ExtendMedia, has joined the company as VP, distribution and affiliate relations.
Patricia Phillips has been appointed senior VP, international coproductions for AAC FACT, effective Sept. 1.
In assuming her new position, Phillips, the former president of Great North Productions, which was acquired by AAC last year, has relocated to Toronto from Edmonton.
With Phillips’ move to AAC FACT, Laurie McInnes will step into the position of VP and general manager of GNP, while maintaining her role as head of business affairs for AAC FACT.
* Cheryl Hassen has been appointed CBC Television’s creative head, children’s and youth programming. Hassan joined the CBC in 1997. As executive in charge of production and outreach for Get Set For Life on CBC, she has been responsible for creating and overseeing production of the preschool programming block.
* Justine Whyte has been appointed executive director of the Canadian Film Centre’s Feature Film Project.
Whyte has been with the FFP since its inception in 1992, first serving as project coordinator, and more recently, as executive in charge of production.
* Anne Loi has been appointed VP of finance at Decode Entertainment. Prior to joining the animation house, Loi, a chartered accountant, was VP of financial strategy at ExtendMedia.
Toni Brem has been appointed to the new position of communication and promotion coordinator for CHUM Television, effective immediately.
Brem honed her media and public relations skills with Harbourfront’s International Festival of Authors, Fleishman Hillard and most recently with Space: The Imagination Station.
In her new role, she will work on building brand awareness for CHUM Television in domestic and international markets.
* CBS senior VP of technology Dr. Joseph Flaherty has been appointed to the North American Broadcasters Association’s board of directors.
Flaherty replaces John Frazee, VP of news services for CBS, who served on NABA’s board for eight years.
Flaherty also chairs NABA’s Technical Committee and is chair of the World Broadcasting Unions’ Technical Committee.
