Launched in 1993, BIG BANG FX/Animation, an affiliate of MIJO Corporation, has a wide array of technology in its spacious Old Montreal offices. Its compositing environment includes the Discreet Inferno, Flame, Flint, Effect and Combustion systems, Adobe AfterEffects, Softimage|Eddie and Avid Elastic Reality.

3D animation software packages include Softimage|3D, Discreet 3ds max4, and plug-ins including AfterBurn, Arete, Fur Designer and 3D Equalizer for motion-tracking.

BIG BANG’s hardware consists of various SGI units, including SGI Onyx2, Infinity Reality, SGI Octane SE, SGI O2s and Intergraph NT workstations.

BIG BANG FX/Animation’s recent assignments include GO Films’ vamp comedy Karmina 2, a stereoscopic short film for Montreal VR entertainment complex Metaforia, digital F/X for the Canada/ Australia copro Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World and the La Fete/MicroTainment Plus TV series Vampire High, and a new theatrical signature trailer for Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution. *
