Cuppa Coffee Animation of Toronto is coming to mip for the first time, with two new cel-animated shows in development to showcase at the market.

For preschoolers, Cuppa hopes Gordon Giraffe (26 x 11 minutes) ‘will do for giraffes what Babar did for elephants.’ It’s all about those awkward spots a young long-neck can land in when he’s a tad overexuberant.

Also on the development burner is Cinema Sue (13 x 30 minutes), stalking the nine to 12 demo with stories about a girl who literally becomes part of the movies. Sue enters the plots of films, and when she re-emerges into the real world, she’s equipped with insights that help her cope with tween-dom.
