Montreal: The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television has issued new rules and revised application forms for the 2001 Prix Gemeaux.

Eleven categories have been either modified or are new, including a new definition of best drama series, which now requires the series to be originated on film. Added are best sitcom and best direction of a sitcom.

Programs broadcast between May 1, 2000 and April 30, 2001 are eligible. The deadline for programs broadcast by Dec. 31, 2000 is March 16. For shows run after that, the deadline is March 30. Finalists will be chosen on May 26. *
