Telescene finds $13M completion financing

Telescene Film Group has accessed the us$13 million needed to complete its first 13 one-hour episodes of Live Through This for ytv and mtv. The embattled Montreal producer, which has been suffering from an ongoing cash-flow decline, has also closed the previously announced us$23 million to finance the second season of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World (22 one-hour eps).

‘These closings are the culmination of a significant financing effort over the last three months [and] complete the us$36 million financing disclosed at the beginning of August,’ says Telescene president and ceo Robin Spry. ‘The Lost World ii and Live Through This combined represent 70 half-hour equivalents. We are systematically looking at each program on our production slate on a project-by-project basis and will announce future financing as it is completed.’

TEAM Communications Group has international distribution rights for Live Through This. The series premiered in Canada as part of ytv’s new programming block aimed at teens and young adults. *
