TDF returns for second year

Following the success of Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival’s Toronto Documentary Forum, launched last year, the festival has put out a call to fill its 36 preselected pitch slots for the second annual tdf.

The tdf, which in its inaugural year saw more than 40% of projects pitched find additional cofinancing, is a two-day roundtable pitch forum where documentary producers from around the world take turns pitching their projects to a group of international commissioning editors and program executives.

To qualify, projects must have at least 25% of their financing in place, including a commitment from at least one broadcaster or distributor.

Entry deadline for the 2001 tdf is Feb. 16, 2001.

The eighth annual Hot Docs takes place in Toronto, April 30 to May 6, 2001, and features more than 80 non-fiction films from around the world. *
