Vancouver: Nine interns will take part in this year’s professional development program sponsored by British Columbia Film.
In the program, which pairs newcomers with veteran mentors, Sara Snow will work with writer Ian Weir on the series Edgemont Road and Michael Van Lane will work with screenwriter Frank Van Keeken on the sitcom Big Sound. Laura Bryans will work with producer Tony Papa on Ice Beyond Cool, Yves Ma will work with producer Shan Tam on Lunch Charles, and Diana Wilson will work with producer Jill Sharpe on the documentary The Right to Jam.
Mary Anne McEwen will hone her screenplay Jeannie Deans with the guidance of writer Patricia Gruben, Brian Paisley will refine his feature script Near Kissingani working with writer Mort Ransen, and Ross Weber will rewrite his script Jack and Claire under mentor Dormaleen Saul.
Cailey Crawford will learn the distrib business guided by Marilyn Kynaston at Forefront Releasing. *
