Chris Lamon, a Canadian stuntman working on the Warner Bros. Pictures feature Exit Wounds, died Aug. 22 from injuries sustained on the set of the film, currently shooting in Toronto.
A member of actra, Lamon died five days after falling out of a fast-moving van on Aug. 18 while performing a stunt on the $25-million u.s. film.
The accident, which took place at St. Lawrence Street and Eastern Avenue, is under investigation and the Canadian actors union is working closely with the Ontario Ministry of Labour to determine whether the production violated the Safety Guidelines for the Ontario Film and Television Industry and/or the Independent Production Agreement.
Exit Wounds, starring Steven Seagal, is the story of an American cop who uncovers police corruption.
The film started shooting in Toronto on Aug. 11 and is set to wrap Oct. 14, as planned.
Joel Silver (Matrix), Dan Cracchiolo and Jeffrey Chemov are the producers on the film directed by Andizej Bartkowiak (Romeo Must Die).
Lamon, engaged to marry to fellow stunt performer Jennifer Vey, worked on the recently wrapped Warner Bros. feature Angel Eyes, shot in Toronto and starring Jennifer Lopez. *
