Vancouver: Four commercial film crew members were lost June 22 during an aerial shoot when their helicopter crashed into the Llewellyn Glacier in northern British Columbia.
The crew – comprising a b.c. pilot, an American director, an American focus puller and a French grip – were doing a spot for an international car manufacturer, says iatse camera local 669, when the helicopter’s rotating blades came in contact with the glacial wall.
The wreckage is lodged in a crevasse. The b.c. Coroner’s Service decided against recovering the bodies because of the danger to the investigators working on the remote, inaccessible site. *
